The Matriarch of the Jamaican Table.
What began with just J$45, one sweet potato pudding and a sky juice cart on Camperdown Road has grown into one of Jamaica's most beloved homestyle restaurants.
Founded by Sonia Thomas, Sonia's Homestyle Cooking & Natural Juices officially opened its doors in 1985 on Windward Road, offering authentic Jamaican meals and catering services prepared with the same love and homemade flavour that started it all.
Affectionately described in a 2006 Gleaner article as "The Matriarch of the Jamaican Table," Mrs. Thomas has dedicated more than three decades to preserving the rich traditions of Jamaican cuisine. Her passion for quality, consistency and genuine hospitality has earned Sonia's a reputation as a trusted destination for authentic local food, exceptional catering and warm customer service.
Over the years, Sonia's has received numerous recognitions for excellence in Jamaican cuisine. The restaurant was twice nominated in the Jamaica Observer Food Awards for Best Lunch Spot in 2008 and 2010, along with additional nominations for several of its signature dishes.

Today, Sonia's Homestyle Cooking & Natural Juices proudly serves customers seven days a week (excluding public holidays) while continuing the tradition that started with a single pudding and an unwavering belief in hard work, family and great food.
